From advancing community well-being and youth opportunity to strengthening local resilience, United Way mobilizes communities to action so all can thrive.
We know that our communities’ greatest challenges – like financial instability, child care access, academic struggles, and workforce challenges, are deeply interconnected. So our role is to bring people and resources together to address them.
Together, we're creating a future where everyone, everywhere can reach their full potential.
Our IMPACT AREAS
We focus on three key areas we know will have the greatest benefits for our communities long-term.
Healthy Communities
Youth Opportunity
Community Resilience
Improving health and well-being for children and families by connecting people to the resources they need to lead healthy lives
Creating pathways to success for young people to thrive, ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential
Helping communities prepare for, prevent, and respond to big challenges, and sustain momentum through long-term recovery
IMPACT SNAPSHOT: FOOD ACCESS
United Way invests in rural food pantries like Oakridge Food Box, who distributed 5,878 emergency food boxes to Oakridge residents over the last year.
Project Dash, a collaboration between United Way and DoorDash, bridges transportation gaps by delivering 400+ food boxes each month directly to families around Lane County.
the impact of your gift
When you give to United Way of Lane County, you strengthen our community's ability to make change for families, not just today, but far into the future. Here’s how we do it.

Action
We strategically invest locally-raised dollars in organizations providing basic needs to kids and families, and in coalitions creating long-term, sustainable solutions to systemic issues.
We bring nonprofits, government, businesses, and philanthropists together to solve big problems. We connect local leaders, leverage local resources, and connect the dots to create positive outcomes.
We make it easy for people to get involved and create and impact together. From distributing books to young readers to coordinating thousands of local volunteers, Lane County turns to United Way to get things done.
Our work this year
“We can’t give up, and we’re not going to give up, because we’re being supported by United Way. We are going to continue to stand in it, and we’re going to figure it out together.”
Lane County Takes Action for Days of Caring
Over just two days, more than 700 volunteers contributed to 50+ service projects hosted by 30 nonprofit organizations across five cities.
BookFest
Over 1,600 students at 14 Lane County schools received new books through BookFest in June to help them build their home libraries and foster a love of reading.
