2015 Volunteer of the Year

We celebrated the Eleventh annual Volunteer of the Year Awards luncheon on April 16, 2015. The event, a partnership with The Register-Guard, is the culmination of a year of encouraging and recognizing extraordinary volunteers in Lane County.

Amy Newport was chosen as 2015 Volunteer of the Year for her volunteer efforts at Christmas for Kids of Lane County. Having started the non-profit when she was only 15 years old, Amy has worked tirelessly to bring the magic of Christmas to families in Lane County who need a little holiday cheer.  Christmas for Kids makes the holidays brighter for 1,400 children in 4 different counties. Amy Newport, put it best by saying, “there truly is nothing better than being the reason for someone’s smile.”
