United Way of Lane County knows that by volunteering you are giving us your most valuable asset; your time. So whether you use your lunch hour to tutor a child, trade in your pajamas for a tool belt on a Saturday morning or ask for cans of food instead of presents on your birthday we appreciate you! One hour or one year, days or evenings, weekdays or weekends, Lane County non-profits depend on passionate people like you.

Not sold on volunteering yet?
Check out these benefits:

  1. 76% of US adults who volunteer said volunteering makes them feel physically healthier. (There are opportunities for after-work volunteering)
  2. Volunteers have a 27% higher odds of finding employment than non-volunteers. (There are opportunities for skills-based volunteering)
  3. Volunteering helps give our life meaning and purpose. (There are opportunities for whatever you love: puppies, forests, sports, food, you name it)
  4. You make a difference.

A note about changes to registering to volunteer online as of October 2017:

The software we use to register volunteers online, Volunteer Solutions, is ending it's operations, and the company that created the software is not offering a replacement. In the next few weeks this means we will need to close online registration as an option, just momentarily, while we set up our new online system.

As part of this, if you were registered in our old system, we will need you to re-register in the new system when we open it. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to information in the old system being outdated and incorrect this option allows us to make sure that everyone who would like to be registered with us to volunteer has the correct information in our new system. We're excited for this new system and hope to make it as user friendly, effective, and accurate as we can.

If you would like to go in and grab your old information from Volunteer Solutions, you can still do that until October 31st at 11:59pm. United Way of Lane County will be keeping some basic information from the old system, but if you want a copy of the more detailed information you filled out, we recommend going in and grabbing that information from the Volunteer Solutions system.

If you have any questions during this transition please contact Julie DiBiase at Check back in December when our new volunteer site will go live!
